So far this summer has been absolutely AMAZING. I’ve had the sweetest clients and have been traveling around to all different areas with regular sessions and weddings. My absolute favorite new location is at Cannon Beach in Oregon. I’m going to plan a couple of days of sessions there next summer. It was incredible!!!

Here’s some favorites from a bunch of random sessions. I wish I could do a big post about all of them, but alas there’s just not enough time in the day.

I hope you enjoy!!

I got the best voicemail this morning from a sweet lady that informed me my image I submitted to the PPA International Print Competition scored high and was selected to go to the Loan Collection. I was BLOWN away with the news as this was my first competition I’ve entered. The competition is fierce and people from around the world enter their best work.

Here’s how to explain what that means:

“The PPA Loan Collection is a compilation of photographic images judged to represent the elite within their entry classification. To achieve this distinction, a panel of more than 40 eminent photographers from across the United States uses a rigid 100-point scale to evaluate each of the approximately 5,000 entries submitted to PPA’s International Print Competition.

Images accepted into the prestigious PPA Loan Collection are considered the top entries from the PPA General Collection or “the best of the best.” ”

The loan collection images will also be published in a book and released later this year.

In Jenica terms (as I squeal with excitement):

“They really liked my photo so they decided to keep it and put it in a book!!!!”

And for those who don’t know, the PPA is the Professional Photographer’s Association. They are AMAZING and I’ve been a member for six years. I hope to one day get my masters with the PPA.
Anyhoo, thanks for letting me share my excitement. I am truly honored, excited, flabbergasted, and blown away.

On June 30th, 2012, Hilary and Barry wed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church here in Longview, WA. Their ceremony was filled with a lot of love and laughter. Even the officiant cried. It was the sweetest ceremony I have seen in a very long time. Their reception was at The Monticello Hotel (one of my absolute favorite places here in town!!!).

Hilary and Barry were the couple from this engagement session. During that fun session, I knew we’d be great friends and their wedding day would be asbolutely perfect. God was awesome and held off the rain when we were doing the formal photos. You would never know looking at the photos that it was a 50% chance of rain that day.

I’m so incredibly blessed to have such amazing clients who trust me with their very important day. Thank you SOOOOO much Hilary and Barry for trusting me with your memories. I hope you enjoy these photos for many generations to come.

Super huge thanks to Amanda Wilson for shooting with me. Love ya girl!!

When I arrived at Joe and Becky’s wedding on June 23rd, 2012 it was POURING down rain. The forecast said it was an 80% chance of rain. I figured I was in for a soppy wet wedding. The moment Becky arrived on site, the rain stopped and the blue skies came out. If I wasn’t there to experience it, I wouldn’t have believed it. Joe and Becky are amazingly lucky and I’m pretty sure God wanted them to have a perfect day on their wedding day.

I’ve known Becky my entire life as she is my “little” cousin. I still picture her at four years old running around in nothing but rubber boots. It was rather fitting that she wore cowboy boots on her wedding day. 😉  She is an AMAZING (and not to mention gorgeous) woman and from what I know of Joe, they are a perfect match. He’s kind, sweet, and patient. Aside from her stunning looks Becky has always been fun and silly. It was her decision to get into the water after the ceremony. Normally I do rock the dress sessions for that sort of thing, but she was determined on getting beautiful photos of them in the river. It turned out more amazing than I could have imagined.

I could blubber on and on about this wedding since it was so special to me personally, but I’ll let the photos tell the story.

Congrats Becky and Joe. I love you both very much and am so incredibly grateful you hired me to do your wedding. It was an honor.

I absolutely adore doing in-home newborn photo sessions. The images I create are unlike anything I’m able to achieve in the studio. It’s not too often people ask me to come to their homes for the session, but when they do, I often create some of my favorite images!!!

This gorgeous family had me come to their beautiful Portland, Oregon home to do newborn photos of their new little girl. She was absolutely perfect and slept like a dream. Her older brother is one of the CUTEST three year olds I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

I hope you enjoy a few of  my favorites!!!
