Archive for July, 2012

On June 30th, 2012, Hilary and Barry wed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church here in Longview, WA. Their ceremony was filled with a lot of love and laughter. Even the officiant cried. It was the sweetest ceremony I have seen in a very long time. Their reception was at The Monticello Hotel (one of my absolute favorite places here in town!!!).

Hilary and Barry were the couple from this engagement session. During that fun session, I knew we’d be great friends and their wedding day would be asbolutely perfect. God was awesome and held off the rain when we were doing the formal photos. You would never know looking at the photos that it was a 50% chance of rain that day.

I’m so incredibly blessed to have such amazing clients who trust me with their very important day. Thank you SOOOOO much Hilary and Barry for trusting me with your memories. I hope you enjoy these photos for many generations to come.

Super huge thanks to Amanda Wilson for shooting with me. Love ya girl!!

When I arrived at Joe and Becky’s wedding on June 23rd, 2012 it was POURING down rain. The forecast said it was an 80% chance of rain. I figured I was in for a soppy wet wedding. The moment Becky arrived on site, the rain stopped and the blue skies came out. If I wasn’t there to experience it, I wouldn’t have believed it. Joe and Becky are amazingly lucky and I’m pretty sure God wanted them to have a perfect day on their wedding day.

I’ve known Becky my entire life as she is my “little” cousin. I still picture her at four years old running around in nothing but rubber boots. It was rather fitting that she wore cowboy boots on her wedding day. 😉  She is an AMAZING (and not to mention gorgeous) woman and from what I know of Joe, they are a perfect match. He’s kind, sweet, and patient. Aside from her stunning looks Becky has always been fun and silly. It was her decision to get into the water after the ceremony. Normally I do rock the dress sessions for that sort of thing, but she was determined on getting beautiful photos of them in the river. It turned out more amazing than I could have imagined.

I could blubber on and on about this wedding since it was so special to me personally, but I’ll let the photos tell the story.

Congrats Becky and Joe. I love you both very much and am so incredibly grateful you hired me to do your wedding. It was an honor.

I absolutely adore doing in-home newborn photo sessions. The images I create are unlike anything I’m able to achieve in the studio. It’s not too often people ask me to come to their homes for the session, but when they do, I often create some of my favorite images!!!

This gorgeous family had me come to their beautiful Portland, Oregon home to do newborn photos of their new little girl. She was absolutely perfect and slept like a dream. Her older brother is one of the CUTEST three year olds I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

I hope you enjoy a few of  my favorites!!!

I got the amazing opportunity to photograph three litters of puppies from a breeder where I got my own puppy from. Sydney is my furry child and I’ve discovered a crazy love for toy and mini aussies. I’m pretty sure I wanted to take every single one of these puppies home with me. It was so hard not to!!!

Anyhoo, Here’s my favorites from our session.

(yes, some of these pups are still available for sale. You’re welcome to message me if you’d like the breeders information).

Rachel and Chris were an absolute delight to photograph. It’s rare to find a couple that is so much in love and so gorgeous!!! Every time I look at these photos I can hear Rachel laughing. She had the BEST time on her wedding day (and I’m sure Chris did as well!!!)  They tied the knot at the Academy Chapel in Vancouver, Washington. It’s such a gorgeous place and I’ve been lucky to have photographed a few weddings there.

After a gorgeous wedding their reception was held at another amazing venue; The Red Lion Hotel at the Quay.  The night of the wedding was the night of the “super moon”. They say rain is good luck, but I’m thinking that a “super moon” is pretty lucky as well. 🙂

My fabulous second shooter was my dear friend Amanda Wilson. She was absolutely incredible. Having such a talented photographer at my side makes my job SOOOO much easier. Plus she’s really fun so it’s a total bonus.:)

Congratulations Rachel and Chris. Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your big day. I hope you enjoy these photos for many years to come!!!
