I’m a terrible blogger (too busy these days to catch up!!) but I wanted to share this incredible anniversary session I did in Hawaii on the island of Oahu!

We did the session on the day of their ten year anniversary. <3 They had always wanted to go back to the island and do a “trash the dress” session. To actually follow through with their plans is absolutely incredible!!! I was completely honored when they asked me to me them their for their photo session. These two are so much in love and we had an absolute blast traveling around taking photos. We started out at sunset on the beach at the North shore and ended up photographing till midnight on the streets of Waikiki. It was absolutely INCREDIBLE.  Not gonna lie, I wish I could do sessions like these all the time!!

Enjoy!!

I’m really late in posting this but figured better late than never!

In February I won 3rd place in the wedding category at the Grand Imaging Awards for the Professional Photographers of America. It’s the biggest thing that’s ever happened in my career!!

This news article explains it best….

“Longview photographer Jenica Lemmons, owner of Lemondrops Photography, recently won a prestigious Grand Imaging Award from Professional Photographers of America (PPA).

Selected by an international panel, Lemmons’ image, “A Waltz on The Water” received third place in the wedding category at the Grand Imaging Awards held Feb. 2, at Imaging USA in Nashville, Tenn.

The event is the PPA’s annual convention and expo for professional photographers and several photographic associations.

“It’s a huge honor to win a Grand Imaging Award,” Lemmons is quoted in a press release. “It’s an incredible competition to be a part of. “

Winning the award left her speechless, she said.

“I got to compete with some of the world’s greatest photographers. To win such an award was mind boggling to say the least,” she said. “Competition is a great opportunity to push myself to be a better photographer each year. To be recognized is a huge bonus.”

Lemmons went up against stiff competition at the event — the best photography selected by a panel of judges at the International Photographic Competition (IPC) held in August 2014 in Atlanta.

I’m thrilled beyond words and winning it was absolutely surreal. <3

The other crazy exciting news is that my image was chosen to be part of “Team USA” in the World Photographic Cup. (it’s the ‘olympics’ in the photography community). Here’s a link to all the incredible work from around the world that competed in that competition….

Huge thanks to my friends and family and especially my clients for trusting me to capture their memories. I’m proud to say that this image was taken on an actual wedding day just minutes before their wedding ceremony. <3
