Archive for Families

I adored this session. We met out on property in Toutle where they keep their horse. It was a beautiful setting complete with a creek, barns, lots of land, and plenty of horses. It’s always so fun to do sessions in new places!!

I grew up out in the country (in Castle Rock) and every time I get out on a farm,  it makes me miss “home.” I will always be a country girl at heart even though I live in the middle of Longview now. Someday I hope to have land again. For now I’ll just live vicariously through others when I’m on photo sessions (it’s the next best thing!).

Enjoy the quick sneak peak!!

(LOVE my new cards I’m offering for 2009. I will be blogging about these next week!!)

I’m going to warn you ahead of time, this will be photo overload.

I couldn’t help but post a ton from this amazing session. It’s not too often I get a family who wants a lifestyle session. When I do, I go kinda nuts with the photos. This family called me all the way from Seaside, Oregon to do their photos (I was beyond flattered). When asked if I would travel to do their session, I didn’t hesitate. “YES OF COURSE” I said while jumping from my seat. In our phone consultation we decided that we would get some fun lifestyle shots on the beach and then end with some pictures by the ice cream parlor. These types of sessions are what I truly love doing. I feel the most at ease when families are being themselves and I’m able to capture special memories.

Okay, sorry. I’ll get to the point.

THE PHOTOS!!!!!

I hope you enjoy this sneak peak….

I couldn’t agree more.

Thanks for lookin!!!!

Doing this session was both fun and a little sad at the same time. We’ve known the “R” family for about eight years now. My husband and Michael were in the military together and we all moved to a few of the same duty stations. “A” is the same age as my Miss K and they grew up playing together. I still remember the first time when I met Allison. “A” was just a couple of months old and I was due with miss K. We hung out together a few times and Allison taught me all about nursing and the woes of childbirth. We all lived in Texas at the time and my friends there became my family. Since we were both only twenty years old, we were the first of our friends to have kids. So at most of the bbq’s and get-togethers, we banded together and talked mom stuff. At one point a few of us formed a quilting group. We sewed away while the kids played. We had some great times.

While my husband got out of the Army three years ago, Michael stayed in. At the end of the month Michael will be deploying to Iraq. Leaving his family behind for a year, he will go off and serve our country.

I know all too well the feeling of your spouse moving away where you can’t go. Separation is hard and military wives are some of the strongest women I know. They hold down the fort and take care of everything while their spouses are doing work that most of us wouldn’t do. Political views aside, these men and women are absolutely amazing.

I love you guys and I’m so glad you asked me to do your photos. Thank you so much for a wonderful day of barbeque and hanging out with our families together again.

Quick sneak peak for the “B” family. How cute are they???

sb1wmrs

I had the great pleasure of photographing these five beautiful ladies. Recently they became a family with five generations. The great great grandma told me that this is the second time in her life that she’s been in a five generation photo!! It’s so rare and such a fun thing to celebrate. I was really excited when the great grandma called me to document this special event.

Ladies, it was a pleasure photographing you. I hope you treasure these images.
