My little guy had his one year “smash the cake” session with his mama. I usually despise food on the face pictures, but when you’re talking cake and babies, it’s a perfect combination. D was hysterical. I wanted a picture of him just sitting next to the cake, but he dived right in. As you can see by the photos here, he did quite a good job at smashing his cake.
My future sister in law is a professional cake maker/decorator and she made his adorable cake. She works at Market Place and also does AMAZING wedding cakes as well.
the perfect little cake…
ahhh the drool….
hmmmm… I think this might look good on me…
laying on the cake might be fun
SUGAR RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh yeah, it’s THAT good.
so pleased with himself..
SUCCESS!
A perfectly smashed cake.
and the storyboard I made…
I love the storyboard!
I love all of these but my favorite is the one with his wrist in his mouth!
tasty!
Ditto to the wrist comment above – how cute is that image! Well they are all lovely but that one is super sweet!
Awww, so cute. What fun!
oh my gosh that is awesome! I love hte first one with the little bit of cake on the toes, not knowing how much more was coming!! Gorgeous shots! What a cutie pie!! (or cake! 😉
LOL…Now that’s the way to enjoy a first year birthday cake!! 🙂 🙂
Aww… too cute! What a sweetie! Love the story board!
I love the first one with the drool coming out of his mouth. Yummy cake!!!
These made me laugh out loud. Amazing color, gorgeous kiddo and great captures. What a cutie.
what a little darling he looks – your images are tack sharp & the colours super
Oh my goodness. How. Stinkin’. Cute!! Happy birthday little D-man!
totally cute!
Gotta love it. We’ll see how Kaelyn does when we do hers. Naomi wanted NOTHING to do with getting her fingers gooky at her 1 yr. LOL, at least with little boys you don’t have to worry about that!
You are so hired for Grayson’s one year pictures…. well really you were hired before he was born but I need to book you now!!
I love these pictures of Mr. D.. so handsome!
I found this when I Googled “baby first birthday cake.” This is an amazing set of photos. I don’t think I’ve ever posted a comment on someone’s website before, but I absolutely HAD to. Thank you so much for sharing. Baby D’s total look of bliss in the last photo is priceless. I can hear the “oh…yeah.” I totally want to do this with my baby for her first birthday. Now I have to find a willing photographer in my area!
I’ve got a request for one of these and am in need of ideas. What did you use for the backdrop and for him to sit on? These pictures are so adorable! Great job!!!!
I was wondering if you have your storyboard directions anywhere, I have looked at tons and yours is so cool… Thanks Jennifer
This is my FAVORITE Cake smash that I have ever seen! I have been researching them for my son upcoming birthday and could not find anything I LOVED.Until now.Thank you so much for posting this! BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
